We are struggling with problem based learning on our university, but frankly, we could use some good practices with real-life examples and experience of lecturers who use this method...
Is PBL integrated with technology in your university or is it still traditional?
In my context PBL was used in K-12 setting. We use technology while integrating PBL and this is more fruitful and encourage learners to accept challenges. One example is for Mathematics classes where Word Problems are dealt using PBL, while using technology through integration of real life situations, pictures and videos. Strategies used; learner-centered approach, brainstorming
However at your level, complex materials should appear simple through PBL and technology.
I hope this could be relevant to the question, using dynamic geometry technology and reorienting geometry textbook to be a story of building a new city that has many scenes and situations. Every student can learn smoothly in seven steps starting from experimenting through observing and problem solving to reach the high level of geometric thinking and writing the proof.
