i am trying for phage DNA isolation, i done manually, i unable to get DNA from phages, any one send the information about which kit was best for phage DNA isolation, the phages are belonging to Pseudomonas aeruginosa, E.coli, and Klebseilla pnemoniae Staphylococcus aureus.

Hi: There are many company provide DNA extraction kit for bacteria and it is powerful for DNA extraction from bacteria , you can go online an check for that.

I have attached a protocol for you which uses the Promega DNA wizard kit. This works better than most commercial phage DNA extraction kits and is relatively quick to go from lysate to DNA.

Phenol:chloroform extraction work well in my lab. With any method, be sure to extract from a phage suspension with at least 1 X 10^6 PFU/ml.
