Many of the PhD candidates we support are writing in English as a second or third language. In addition to equipping them with theory, it would be useful to provide model writers in their field for them to see some best practice. Who are the best writers in your field?
You can search on the google with the key terms such as english for research paper or english for writing essay, english for writing an international paper, etc. I do hope you will find the samples and writing models for you!
Thanks Tran, I will do that. I am also looking for some names of great writers so students can model their writing on a great sample.

- Academic Writing for Graduate Students: Essential Skills and Tasks by Swales, J.and C. Feak. (2012)
- Academic Writing : A Handbook for International Students, by S. Bailey (2015)

Graham Crooks, Kumaravadivellu, Jack , C. Richards, Rod Ellis, and Paul Nation are some of the great writers in the field of applied linguistics.
Many good writers of English are non native speakers. Also the same is true for Linguists of other languages. In Arabic for examples, Sebawayh , the famous grammarian of Arabic, is of Persian origin.
In my opinion, Michael E. McCormick is the most effective writer in the field of ocean wave energy conversion as demonstrated in his text "Ocean Wave Energy Conversion".

As far as I'm concerned, there are many versed writers such as David Crystal, David Nunan, Scott Thornburry, Jack , C. Richards, Rod Ellis, Paul Nation, Zoltan Dorney and many others especially in the field of applied linguistics.
