Can self antigen : MHC self ligand protect T cell from apoptosis in peripheral system ??
their is some evidence that contentious stimulation of the T cells in peripheral system by dendrite cells have self antigen ; MHC self complex can prevent its apoptosis??? is that correct???
MHC expression in peripheral tissues is required to maintain the peripheral T cell population implying that subliminal encounter with MHC-peptide promotes survival of T cells. TCRs are highly crossreactive so this could involve weak interaction with self peptides on MHC.
Your answer is coorct in case if thier are no stimulation but if thier are some stimulation to APCs cells that present the self antigen and provide cytokine to developed outoimmune disese so thier is a vary smal line between maintaince of Tcells and development of disease i think thier is another factor responsable of periferal regulation !?
Currently, a new mechanism has been proposed by Yi et al.; in absense of Treg, stimultion of TCR with high self pMHC affinity is enough to trigger co-stimulatory signals (DC B7 expression and T cell CD28 expression). Thus, break self tolerance and T cell proliferation take place.
