Hi
I'm have been looking into temperature control over atmosphere and water pool, within a 100 liter volume chamber, usually used for local adaption trials in intertidal species.
Now...usually the atmosphere is heated with ceramic lamps and cooled with fans, while the water is heated with aquarium AC resistive heaters and cooked with chillers (often together to achieve the goal temperature).
But.. What about peltier modules? These could allow a better resolution in temperature control. And with the proper gadjet structure it could heat and cool air (by controlling the current direction and amperes) while if it had a liquid heatsink with water flowing, it could heat/cool the water.
But peltiers have a relatively low heat pump and consume large amounts of current, but still, chillers are not exactly small, low power and precise for that matter.
So...has anyone tried peltier for air or water temperature control?
Can you share your bad or good results?
Thank you!
Cheers, Luis Pereira.
