We have isolated few strains of endophytes with potential plant growth promoting properties under in-vitro conditions. Eventually, we would like to go for field trials. My questions are as follows:

1. Do we need special permission before going for field trials of microorganisms (endophytes) in India?

2. Do we need to ascertain the pathogenecity of all the strains of isolates even though the species does not have any record of causing infection (in humans and plants)?

3. What if the strains are known pathogens of some plants but still showing growth promoting traits, can we still go for field trials with other plants?

4. Any other relevant information/details or any kind of certificates to be obtained before moving for field trials of potential endophyte strains so that the strains do not harm plants in the vicinity as well as humans.
