In educational administration, the challenges of human resources management including employment of adequate qualified facilitators considering small financial resources allocated to education is strong enough to give school administrators headache. Despite these inadequacies, School administrators must take both blames and praises for the failure and success of the institution must venture into the type of programme that could be handled by a small number of facilitators. Hence, which of the traditional and online programme is more cost effective and need lesser number of facilitators?

Traditional teaching learning requires just the teacher and the students with a few teaching aids. The shortcoming of this process is that the number of students is less and the class and information given remains there.
While in the Online teaching process the number of facilitators required is large as the teacher not being an expert in the - process, aids, all intervening stages - requires more number of people to help him. But when we see the number of pupils taught then I think the effort is worth it. Not only this a good teacher's lectures can benefit a large number of students.
In developing countries if the requisite technology can be made available to teachers it can become cost effective and also the number of students who can benefit far and wide will be very large. A need of the hour in a country that requires highest quality of teachers to impart education to a large number of students.
Once prepared the online line material can be referred again and again for a better understanding.
In India the government has started the initiative of preparing course content for online courses. A very large number of students can benefit from these courses. Please see the links attached.

typical answer: It depends. I would argue not every subject/topic can be taught online for example. Resource levelling in Project Management for example, or the link of Strategy-Project-Portfolio come to mind.
I am not saying it cannot be done but what resources you save in number of facilitators you invest into time that facilitator spends on the effective knowledge transfer.
While online teaching is still a coming trend, just look at the online platforms like Coursera et al, it suffers from detachment such as low completion record. Traditional teaching has advantages online schooling simply cannot achieve.
On the other hand does online have advantages such as avaiilability and, if used right, can complement traditional teaching, particularly in continuing education.

Yes it depends and differs from subject to subject.
Yes it also does not have the advantage of face to face contact.
But for someone not having anything to someone having the advantage of online availability of a course small or big which he/she can do at his convenience is one big advantage. Yes, of course this depends on subjects we are delivering. However, many tools are available with which one can teach any subject online, that needs proper training and exposure to the usage of tools and technology. Online line teaching would then have better impact and learning outcome too.
Now-a-days I am doing an online course and am finding it very interesting and informative. the basic benefits I find are:
I can watch the videos and read the reading material at my convenience. Lecture videos can be watched as many times as one wants.
I have taken part in the preparation/reviewing/presenting of a few lectures of Post Graduate courses that are available online.
