Most Osteopaths that I shadowed during my clinical rotations were pretty much the same as every MD I shadowed. Their examination and diagnosis were identical and their treatment plans were virtually identical, too. I never observed a DO incorporate any Osteopathic Manipulation with their medical treatment plan while doing my clinical rotations.
That being said, as a young adult in the late 1970's, my first non-pediatric doctor was my father's DO. When I went to his office with severe torticollis the osteopath successfully manipulated my cervical spine and there was no need for any follow up prescriptions. So I guess that was a different approach from normal allopathic treatment. Hope that helps.
