Hi!

I am looking for tips, techniques, papers on creative, innovative and original ways of doing inductive analysis / inductive categorisations. How the categorisations process can lead to an original analysis of raw data? How we can teach it, how we can help students to improve their analysis? I mean not only descriptive categorisations. Even this latter is also useful, often it is not enough to make an original contribution. Generally, my answer to this question, and how I was trained as a PhD, is building a general scientific culture, theoretical frameworks knowledge, seminars, and so on...an interdisciplinary body of knowledge to interpret creatively the raw data (make connections, relations, and sense, identify insights). My designer researcher colleagues will maybe indicate designerly tools to reveal original categories. But there is something else that I am missing, taught in social sciences for example for those issues? Any articles, methods to recommend ? Thank you!
