What is the optimum feed ratio of CO:H2 for the indirect synthesis of dimethyl ether from syngas?

The correct feed ratio has to be 2:4 (CO : H2 ) in line with the sequence of the 2 reactions involved:a) 2 CO + 4 H2 → 2 CH3OH b) 2 CH3OH → H3C-O-CH3 + H2O . What matters most is the type of catalyst that ought to be used but this is another story that you have to search for.
