Open ended question: how many SCOTUS Judges must POTUS Biden Induct to Maintain Presidential Legacy With the Dangers of a DJT White House Return? By presidential legacy, I mean the lasting effects of Biden's policies and US modern liberalism on the USA and globe.
@alexanderohnemus Perception problem is what is at stake here. It isn't the number of the Supreme Court Judges he could have succeeded in hiring or co-opting that actually matters. Biden stands a chance of remaining in Washington on the condition that he re-projects America's image globally. Liberalism as championed by his administration is disgusting globally. Again, America's involvement in the Ukraine-Russia imbroglio is image-denting, likewise its stance on the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian crisis.
I agree, SCOTUS is not the fundamental tool to create lasting national policies. Packing the court is "working the system", I would compare it to gerrymandering. We have too much emphasis on personalities. To make and maintain lasting political legacies, three indicators must be paid attention to: (1) responsiveness and fidelity of legislation and policies to the actual problems of people, (2) widespread ability to link laws and policies to individual, everyday positive changes in people's lives, (3) sustained convincing of people on both the necessity of policies and laws and the political force responsible for them. If any president in the US wants lasting legacy, I reckon to work on improving these variables.
