Does anybody knows on what criteria Scopus papers are been taken into Scopus database...I mean based on our mail id which we have signed in with scopus....otherwise through our name and affiliation...were affiliation may change as per our carrier...which means position may change, college address may change...I have faced one problem due to my name... i mean my details in Scopus will be as prathyusha k...some persons information has been included in my database...later I requested the Scopus to remove her paper...so I planned to change my name and keep with intial...so they might not be a problem again...so my doubt is..will my new name will be merge with my old name...so that I will have a count...if it doesn't work I must start from beginning with the new name....so if any one knows...give me clarity regarding this issue...Thanks for your kind reply,
The Scopus author identifier distinguishes you from other authors by assigning you a unique number and then grouping all your documents together. However, if your name has appeared in various ways during your authoring career or you’ve changed affiliations at any point, your publications may be spread over a number of different author profiles. Clarify your identity by checking that the list of publications associated with your Scopus author identifier is correct, and use the ORCID integration to link your Scopus information with an ORCID ID.
- I agree with Abhishek that the best way to avoid author name confusion and ambiguity is to resort to one of the author identification systems preferably an ORCID. In the Scopus ID system, A tool is provided to pull the publications from a Scopus author profile into an ORCID profile.
