this not an answer but a series of questions:

1. which strain of mice?

2. what is the treatment?

3. what is the main hypothesis behind your project?

I do not think it is possible to design your test the way you ask without considering some of these points.

I am still convinced that there no general "animal model" and also no general test procedure to apply without these "details". They compose the science behind your question.

Hi!

I use the following protocol for NORT and OLMT for mice:

Day 1 - habituation

Day 2 - training (two equal objects - familiar objects) and, after 90 min, NOR test (switching one object for a new one - novel object) - to assess short-term memory

Day 3 - OLT (moving one familiar object to a new position) - to assess long-term memory

However, I think you could test the same protocol you used for NORT if it has already worked for you, just changing the last day of test (1 day of habituation, 2 days of training with two equal objects, and 1 day moving one object to a new position).
