Is there any procedure to calculate number of points from excel graph? For example, I have a figure that contains 10000 coordinates. Now, I want to select a specific zone in that figure and want to calculate the number of data points in that zone. Is it somehow possible?
The first step would be to extract the data from the graph, if you don’t already have the dataset used to produce the graph; below is a link to do just this. Once you have the data, you can write a formula. Let’s say your data for the X and Y axis are in columns X and Y, and you decided you want to count only those with X less than 100 and Y greater than or equal to 300. In column Z write a formula like, “=IF(AND(X2=300),1,0).” Paste down along your data. Now write another formula that says something like, “=SUM(Z2:Z1000)” to count up the number of data pairs that met your criteria. Hope this helps some. ~ Kevin
