My approach would be to conceptualize nonprofit capacity as the intersection of what economists call "demand-side" and "supply-side" determinants. Does that make sense?

I have read briefly some points from your paper. Supply side and demand side as such form a degenerative feedback structure, because once the supply triggers, based on the feedback, the market sustains degeneratively on increasing or decreasing the supply, so non profit sustainability on the higher end depends whether we are regenerative or degenerative from the market view point.
