How do you all think, according to the recommendations of NEP 2020 , we will balance between medium of instruction as mother tongue till 5th class and Teaching of English as global language? Private schools are following Direct method of English teaching which is the most successful one in acquisition of English language, will they switch to local language? What teachers will do as a teacher from UP can teach there and likewise? Any visions??
No where in NEP it's mentioned that medium of instruction will only be mother tongue. It's recommended the use of regional or mother tongue as the first choice of instruction at all level of school education but multilingual approach will be there and that includes English. So more over it's going to be a bilingual educational with emphasis over regional languages so that children can learn in more inclusive and contextually.
I also feel the same as mentioned by Mr. Bikash Barai.it will be a multilingual appraoach with special focus on mother tongue. It is better approach to improve the student coverage and including marginal people into the main stream education system.
