How much time does it take that a measurement unit (like power flow or power injection measurement unit), sends its data to the main control unit of power system?
* Assume we are considering traditional measurement units, not PMUs. But you can state PMU's as well for comparison.
** Please give the reference, if it has been mentioned from a book or paper.

I think that the time must be limited by the sampling time of the power. If it is a real time control system, then one has to acquire the power process it ans send it before the next sample is taken. The sampling time Ts itself is dictated by the sampling frequency fs such that Ts=1/fs. The sampling frequency fs depends on the rate of the variation of the system power.

Yes i gave a conceptual answer. In order to determine the sampling frequency fs, you have to physically describe you system. I do not know exactly what is your system.
If you describe it i can help you get your fs. After getting fs one can determine the required specifications for the communication system.

Abdelhalim Zekry Consider it as simple as possible, we have IEEE 14 bus system, how long does it take a power flow or power injection unit, sends information to control unit (Of course, it will vary due to distance, but consider an average time)? Any, other assumption needed, you can make it yourself, to make the problem as simple as possible.
