Hi All!

I would like to seek your thoughts regarding moderation.

In my study, I have 5 DVs, 1 moderating variable and 1 IV. Do I have to establish there is a significant relationship between my DVs and the moderating variable and between the moderating variable and the IV to be able to say that my moderating variable has a "moderating effect."

I believe not as my moderator should be able to affect the strength of the relationship between my DV and IV regardless if it's significant or not but would like to gather some explanations about it. Any useful reference that would explain this will be appreciated.
