I'm an Electrical Engineer and looking for Marine Renewable Energy thesis topic. I am not able to decide what to do and I feel like lost and confused. Any suggestions and ideas for the dissertation in the same topic are welcome. Thanks.
Marine renewable energy involves generally three areas: (a) OTEC or using the marine temperature variation of sea with depth to generate electricity, (b) using ocean currents to generate electricity, and (3) using waves for electricity generation. As noted by Azab, community interests, available resources and mostly your interest would help you to choose.
My advice to people in similar situation is to look at their modules and coin a dissertation from one of them. If you had a module in Marine RE, you may want to consider the effect of factors such as ocean depth, ecology, ocean current, salinity etc on energy generation. Also, be sure to conduct a research in an area you have interest in and can find the necessary support. Best of luck with your dissertation in whatever area you eventually decide.
