Hello everyone!
Question from a newbie in optics.
We have a nice sets of good camera to record aquatic insects' movement in lab experiment. These cameras came with removable Near InfraRed (NIR) lenses. We didn't have any utility of them, since they didn't really improve our video (for now).
But I was wondering: what are these lenses good for? I didn't find on the internet any answer, like which surfaces reflect the NIR, or which elements are highlighted under this light. I just read it improves contrast. That is all?
Maybe I don't use a good tool because of my ignorance. Thank you for your help!
