Hello every one and a good day to you all. I am unable to make an appropriate sample for wear testing to be tested on "pin on disc" due to limitation of fabrication of sample.
I am trying to fabricate sample via compression moulding but one of the heating plate is not working properly. Moreover i want to upload an image of the sample for comments if that is suitable to be tested on PIN ON DISC (The sample is made from a pelleted polymer composite, the small pellets ca be seen in image which appears not be melted completely). Or in other case i need to get improved on the sample fabrication please comment. All comments are well appreciated. Thank you.
You need to study the surface and the material, or only the material?
Which is the the hardness of the material?
Another question. What thickness have the sample?
Bear in mind that representative results imply having homogeneous conditions of both pin and disk. If that is not the case your results will depend on what part of the disc the pin is creating a track over, or what part of the pin is in contact with the disk. In other words: contact area must be far larger than the "accidents" of the (micro)structure.

Ans2: I am not investigating the hardness. Please advice me if I am needed to know the hardness for testing wear properties (wear rate).
Ans3: thickness if the sample is 0.3 cm

May be, you can glue your polimer specim over a metalic disc, and addequate the shape by ligth machining.
