Hello everybody!

I have a rough surface with a water CA of around 140° in its untreated state. When I chemically bond PNIPAM to it the water CA is reduced to around 40°. The PNIPAM has a MW weight of around 3,000 and I buy it from Sigma. When I dissolve it in water and heat it above 42°C I can see the solution becoming cloudy. However, when I bond my PNIPAM to my surface using thiol-ene chemistry and raise the temperature, I see know change in water CA. Can anyone suggest why? Is it a known problem? How can I trouble shoot it?
