I was suggested to conduct multicollinearity analysis before conducting moderation analysis as standard error for the indepedent variable is too high. specifically, I was advised to check the multicollinearity between interaction effect between the independent variable and the moderation variable and the indepedent variable.

I would like to hear from you about the below. As I detected multicollilearity, I centered the data.

Why does high standard error in the independent variable indicate multicollinearity?

Why can multicollinearity be delit with by centring the data?

I would apprecitte it if you could give me any useful resources as well.

Thank you!
