The concentration indicated in the label, should be assumed as given in wt%, i.e. (g TiCl3 / g solution)·100% = 15 wt% (minimum assay). The solution density is indicated in the label: 1.20 g/cm3. The molecular mass of TiCl3 is also indicated. This data allows the molarity of the concentrated solution to be readily calculated. Note that this aq. solution also includes 5―10 wt% HCl.
The molarity is: c = {0.15(g of TiCl3 / g of sol.)·1.20(g of sol.)/cm3/{154.26(g of TiCl3 / mol)}}·1000 cm3/dm3= {0.15·1.20/154.26}·1000 mol/dm3= 1.17 M TiCl3 (minimum assay).
