Would you like to share your ideas and knowledge on the moderators and mediators which affect supply chain resilience. If you have any specifics pertaining to any industry/sector, please share it with us.
Moderator variables - In general terms, according to Baron and Kenny (1986), a moderator is a qualitative (e.g., sex, race, class) or quantitative (e.g., level of reward) variable that affects the direction and/or strength of the relation between an independent or predictor variable and a dependent variable.
Mediator variables - In general, a given variable may be said to function as a mediator to the extent that it accounts for the relation between the predictor and the criterion. Mediators explain how external physical events take on internal psychological significance.
So, it's the same thing in SC Resilience, caused by the globalization of Supply Chain, which is subject to diverse types of disturbances (Ribeiro and Povoa, 2018)...
Moderator in supply chain resilience would be variable wich can improve or reduce the level of resilicience on supply chains. In the other hand, mediators are variables which without them, supply chain resilience will not take place.
