Dear Colleagues, I am seeking voluntary collaborators for a research project on Migration and Artificial Intelligence, exploring their intersections and social impacts. If you are interested in working together
Migration and Artificial Intelligence intersect in multiple ways, including forecasting migration trends due to conflict or climate change, automating visa and asylum processing, enhancing border security, and improving refugee support services. AI tools can analyze satellite data and socio-political factors to predict migration flows, helping policymakers plan for humanitarian response. However, ethical concerns arise when AI is used for surveillance, risk profiling, or exclusionary practices that violate migrants' rights. To be effective and just, AI systems must be transparent, explainable, and developed with respect for international human rights norms, ensuring they support rather than hinder safe, legal, and dignified migration.
