If the bedforms are obstacle erosional marks, long distances between obstacles in the flow direction would cause long bedforms. If the bedforms are erosional, they might become shorter with time such that initial lineations would be longer.

The term 'bedform' is usually tagged to depositional features and not erosional.
Dear Shaw, I am fully agree with your statement. Beadforms means both erosional and depositional, such as pools, riffles, riffle marks etc. Pools are the 'pocket zone' ,due to helical flow which is very much area specific. As the helical flow confined into a specific area , the pool s are also confined into that area. On the other hand, riffles are formed at the transition zone between two bends. Here , somehow , mass and energy is handed over from one flow regime to another like a really race. And the transition zone has a elongation form and here divergence of flow also occurred. Sir, these are all my assumption, whether, it may be right or wrong. I am a school teacher and above all merely a student in fluvial geomorphology. In this subject, HE is the ONLY TEACHER. Thank-you Madhab. I have a great respect for school teachers as many of us owe our education to your fellow teachers. I appreciate your comments on fluvial geomorphology and channel forms being erosional and depositional. There are still many questions on channel forms such as riffles and pools and similar questions apply regarding the distribution of stream power in the erosion and deposition of drumlins. I am intrigued by how they control the spacing of the landforms.
