I think they are cheaper. I personnaly use a Xenics camera in my hyperspectral imaging setup, but it is for SWIR (1 - 2.5 µm). For you, for example the Onca-MWIR-InSb-640 goes up to 120 fps. If pricing is not an issue for you, go towards a FLIR, like a FLIR SC8200, they have higher resolution.

It has the benefites of exporting raw data files (count rates directly from the chip) and has - in our case/model - a full frame rate of 130 Hz and in sub-frame mode up to >4k frames per second.

I would reccomand FLIR from Sweden, 7-13um range models. Very very reliable, interface enables huge amount and flexible data. Not sure about the frame rate, look into their spec...

There ara also cameras from http://www.infratec.de/en.html, which I can recomend. They have frame rates up to 300 Hz in full frame mode (640*512 pixel).

What is your usage. There are MWIR cameras, which are sensistiv from 2 - 5.7 µm, which are all "cooled" cameras and very costly. The next spectral sensitivity is in the range from 7.5 - 14 µm. There are "uncooled" micro bolometer cameras, which are sold by many companies. These types are "cheap" infrared cameras, but not as sensitive like colled cameras in this wavelenght range. "Cooled" cameras in the LWIR range are very costly and the availability is not very good.

due to the nature of the materials as a detector used in infrared cameras and atmospheric absorption it is impossible to find 5-12 um IR camera. most of LWIR cameras are produced in 7.5 - 11.5 um band. I can suggest FLIR SC 7000 series.

Don't know if this is of any help, but there are used to be a start-up, called NoblePeak, who had working SWIR video sensors with TEC-based cooling. Unfortunately they went bankrupt around 2010.

I know that their assets, including IP, was acquired by another company, but I do not remember the name. I believe they actually continue the development, but I didn't maintain any contact.

You can try to google "NoblePeak" and see if you can find anything useful.

BTW, I designed good chunk of hardware for their camera, including video ADC and TEC controller.

How fast is your frame rate? Microbolometers are limited in this respect. For high frame rate (>100 fps) and high detectivity, cooled (77K) HgCdTe is still probably the best choice and there are several good manufacturers.

Microbolometer cameras should do the job.
