Similarly, I would recommend following the work of Jennifer F Provencher who is an expert on the current contamination issues with microplastics. Herself, along with Justine Ammendolia , Chelsea Rochman, and Mark L Mallory wrote an excellent paper addressing the impacts of plastics in aquatic food webs at a global scale:
