It certainly depends on what you want to use the algae for.  As an example shellfish feed on whole algae; powder being uneaten. However powder is dry enough to use as nutricuticals having a shelf life etc.

Dear Barry, i want to use it as source of energy in a Microbial fuel cell and in the same time i'm trying to grow it.

Dear Zakarya Baicha, I belive that for your porpouse, growing it in a fuel cell, the powder won't work. Because when the biomass is powdered ou freeze-dried, the cells are not viable and do not grow anymore. So I'd try to use microalgae pastes/concentrates that would continue growing.
