Methylene and methylene ether bridges separation?

I am preparing a polymer (urea-formaldehyde) under different conditions and i want to examine whether the polymer contains methylene bridges or methylene ether bridges. What ways are there, except NMR and FTIR spectroscopy? Can anyone propose an alternative method or any "characteristic" reaction?

you can used Mass spectrometry as well as elemental analysis for solid samples. if it has a molecular weight more than 2000, then use MALDI analysis. That will give exact mass
