Hi,

I need help interpreting and planning a regression analysis on my data.

I have data containing measures of Attractiveness, State Reactance, Anthropomorphism, perceived Intelligence, Pragmatic Quality and Hedonic Quality.

With that I want to do two things:

1: check if perceived Intelligence and Anthropomorphism are mediators or moderators of State Reactance

2: build a model to predict Attractiveness

My initial idea would be to run two regressions:

1: State Reactance as dependent variable and Intelligence, Anthropomorphism as independent variables

2: Attractiveness as the dependent variable and all other variables as independent variables.

But my Question is:

How do I include the Mediator/Moderator role of Intelligence and Anthropomorphism in the second model? -do I have to?

Does the first model actually show that Intelligence and Anthropomorphism are Mediators/Moderators if they produce significance in Model 1?

How do I decide if Intelligence and Anthropomorphism are Mediators or Moderators?

-Maybe create a third model with Attractiveness as the dependent variable and Intelligence and Anthropomorphism as independent variables? In this case, I would interpret independent variables that have significant influences in both models (Reactance(I&M) & Attractiveness(I&M)) as Mediators and variables that only have influence in the Reactance(I&M) model as Moderators?

I would really appreciate some help.

Thank you,

Patrick
