i10-Index = the number of publications with at least 10 citations.
This very simple measure is only used by Google Scholar and is another way to help gauge the productivity of a scholar.

Yes, i-10 index is a good measure for the scholar work.
With this feature, the work of the author can be computed.
As most of these parameters, i10 make usage of an arbitrary cut-off value; here: the magic number 10. Here Hirsch's idea of adapting the cutoff criterion dynamically: with more papers, you need more citations, seems much more appealing (e.g. h=10 ==> at least 10 papers with a citation rate of 10 [or more]). Yes, the h-Index is also problematic in a way but at least offers a self-regulating mechanism not to allow too many low-influential paper (in the case of i10 papers with just 10 citations needed to become listed) and not to allow too many overall citations (if you would just sum up all available citations; in the case of overall citation rates where just a one-shot paper of high influence makes believe that the respective authors are successfull in a broader sense).
But, as a final word: of course i10 can be a valuable, initial raw indicator whether a person is not only publishing a lot but at least is also being cited in a broader range.

Most of the researchers are considering the h index value rather than i 10 index.
Undoubtedly i10 index is a good criterion, however, I believe h-index still carry the weight comparatively.

Further disadvantages:
- as the h index, the i10 is highly correlated with age and academic age
- it doesn't correct for number of co-authors
- it also doesn't avoid the classic problem that reasons for citation are not reflected. A paper may be highly cited, because other researchers point to flaws in the research.
Suggestion: Google, please add i50 and i100 to Google Scholar! :-)
