Within the field of Thermoelectricity. What is the correct interpretation of the ZT (Figure of Merit) for a thermoelectric material ? What is the correct interpretation of its meaning, since is not an Efficiency.

The capability of any material to generate electrical power from a heat source is given by Figure of Merit(ZT).
zT = (S^2 .σ.T )/κ
The efficiency itself characterized by figure of merit, if figure of merit is large (>2) it is more efficient material for thermoelectricity.
Efficiency and figure of merit are more or less are the same thing, if one increases other automatically increased.
