I am doing genetic characterization studies of S. gesnerioides infesting tobacco in different growing regions of Zimbabwe, to ascertain whether the strains/races from geographic areas could be different. I haven't seen any published SSR markers for the tobacco witchweed and I wish to consider even markers developed for characterization of cowpea Striga since the parasitic weeds are phenotypically similar.
