Metal nanoparticles means does not contain any other element its in pure state e.g. only Ag, Au, Zn. In case of oxide nanoparticles metal contain the oxygen element e.g. AgO, AuO, ZnO.

Thank you Rawle and Patil for the clarification. @Rawle, do TiO2 and SiO2 behave similar thermo-physically? I found some other literature grouping TiO2 as metallic nano-particle. I want to know the fundamental reason behind these grouping. Thank you.
very good example for confusion due to naming things according to personal intuition.
Likely simply a mind jump 'why not saying metallic instead of metal based, it is shorter'.
