Malnutrition is more than just a lack of food. It includes a combination of factors: protein, energy, micronutrients, frequent infections or diseases, poor health care and nutritional practices, and inadequate health and water services. While unhealthy care and nutrition are less harmful, as it can be bypassed by the development of new health nutrition programs.
I mean improper nutrition as the nutrients enter inside our body as a result of so called "modern lifestyle".
The "cold drinks" and "Fast foods" are among them.
These are manufactured "food", and modern man take these without considering their health effects. Intake of high calorie with less or no vitamin or required minerals, less or no fibre in food etc. are some characters of improper food and improper nutrient intake.
I think both are equally harmful. Malnutrition weakens the immune system and hinders the various body development processes. Improper nutrition on the other hand side contribute to the risk of developing health problems such as obesity, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, cardiovascular diseases, stroke, diabetes, osteoporosis, cancer and depression.
From my own point of view, I think both cases are due to bad eating habits, because there are good foods at reasonable prices for all classes. Here is the role of nutrition awareness, culture and knowledge in improving nutrition in relation to diseases of malnutrition / Improper for each age stage. Unfortunately, with the spread of communication sites there are still explicit contradictions in the definition of each type of food benefits and side effects
Both are equally harmful and has very bad health consequences in the short and long term, being underweight is a risk factor for many diseases and serious illness
In my own part of the world, malnutrition is thankfully uncommon, but improper or poor nutrition is becoming increasingly common,as evidenced by our rates of Type II diabetes, and childhood obesity, plus increasing morbidity such as early major joint replacements, and the increase in obesity related surgery.
The principle of "you are what you eat" has certainly been around for some time....
Malnutrition is an umbrella term for poor nutrition, whether that is excess consumption of nutrients (overnutrition) or inadequate consumption or absorption of one or more nutrients (undernutrition). Children suffering from undernutrition often show no visible signs or symptoms, which is why it is sometimes called hidden hunger.
Malnutrition is more harmful. Malnutrition can affect someone's physical and mental health. People who are suffering from malnutrition are more likely to get sick; in very severe cases, they may even die from its effects. Malnutrition is caused by eating a diet in which nutrients are not enough or are too much such that it causes health problems. It is a category of diseases that includes undernutrition and overnutrition.
Dear Dr Shibabrata Pattanayak , Malnutrition is an umbrella term for poor nutrition, whether that is excess consumption of nutrients (overnutrition) or inadequate consumption or absorption of one or more nutrients (undernutrition).
Mal means bad, malnutrition means either over or under nutrition. When one takes nutrients in wrong quantities either more or less it will manifest itself in the body either physically, physiologically or even mentally. Its always good to follow the recommended RDA for each group and age.
Both malnutrition and improper nutrition are bad for health and survival in the long run. It can be worst for the people suffering from certain diseases. For survival and conducting day to day work life, proper nutriton is required.
Malnutrition is defined as a category of diseases that include undernourishment and nutrition - a diet where nutrients are insufficient or too much to cause health problems
Both are so dangers for the health public system becouse we know that the obese patients are malnutrition too. The malnutrition is a problem very old in our health public system, for exemplo in Brazil, more the 50% of patient are malnutrition. Know data of the malnutrition in your hospital and country, is the first step for start public politics of health e to make nutrition therapy high quality.
Malnutrition Symptoms Malnutrition symptoms include fatigue, dizziness, weight loss, and may never have symptoms. To diagnose them, the doctor may perform blood tests and nutrition assessment. Treatment can include compensation of lost nutrients and treatment of the underlying cause. Symptoms of malnutrition are most common. Not wanting to eat and drink. Inability to concentrate. Always feeling cold. Fat loss, muscle mass, and body tissues. High risk of disease, taking longer to heal. Depression. Take a long time to heal wounds. Increased risk of complications after surgery. Symptoms of severe malnutrition: breathing with difficulty. Dry skin and dandruff. Skinny face, dry eyes. Dryness and hair loss. Respiratory failure, heart failure.
Malnutrition have to done immediately because the effect come sooner and dangerous. But the improper nutrition is also danger but the effect aren't come sooner. It's like investation if we take some treatment/prevention for it.
Certainly malnutrition because it's a case which is originally due to nutritional deficiency. While improper nutrition may or may not be nutritionally deficient
Malnutrition is more harmful. People who are suffering from malnutrition are more likely to get sick; in very severe cases, they may even die from its effects. Malnutrition is caused by eating a diet in which nutrients are not enough or are too much such that it causes health problems.
Over nutrition or excessive fast food intake may cause improper nutrition slightly

Improper nutrition is the inability to access adequate food and is associated with eating habits. Malnutrition is a condition that results from eating a diet in which one or more nutrients are either insufficient or too much to the point that the diet causes health problems. Malnutrition and improper nutrition are a risk to public health.
Malnutrition is a serious condition that occurs when a person's diet doesn't contain the right amount of nutrients. It means "poor nutrition" and can refer to: undernutrition – not getting enough nutrients. overnutrition – getting more nutrients than you need.
