As far AI already killed 700 humans, by refusing to obey human pilots'orders, their legal responsability have to be urgently defined, especially concerning insurances and victim's indemnizations. Who is responsible for the Boeing crashes? The company, the programmers, sponsors, scientists? Responsability dilutes in the great number of intervenants. Legally, it is almost frightening. AI will be in charge of human society, but without even the lightest responsability. Of course, one of the major problem programmers have to face is to define 'human' for machines an electronic way so machines can understand it. Second main problem for programmers is to translate and teach 'respect'.
Of course machines and robot cannot be held liable in case of errors hence liabilities should be on the manufacturers or producers of machines or robots
The AI system should have included the possibility of overriding it. Hence, the problem is not that the AI "refused" to obey human's orders. The problem is that there was a flaw in the design. The company is to be blamed for it. They should have taken into consideration that issue.
