ML: When we teach our computer or machine to do something then this is called Machine Learning. There're a lot of models, algorithms and methods to do machine learning. Such as:

4) Decision tree
5) Random forest.

AI: When we teach computers or machines to learn and solve problems by themselves by applying some techniques then this is called applied Artificial Intelligence. Some features of AI are:
1) Deep Learning
2) Facial Recognition
3) Automate Tasks
4) Data Ingestion
5) Cloud Computing
6) Quantum Computing
7) ChatBots
I think that the basis is to learn the main principles of data science: difference between unsupervised and supervised, inference and prediction, single technics or ensemble machine learning technics. Then, we learn to run algorithm (without forgetting programming language and notion of statistics) data preparation, data exploration, how to select the relevant features (notion of multicollinearity), the difference between training, validation and testing, how to train (notion of overfitting) and test models, the optimisation of parameters, and how to evaluate the models.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning are the part of computer science that are correlated with each other. These two technologies are the most trending technologies which are used for creating intelligent systems.
Although these are two related technologies and sometimes people use them as a synonym for each other, but still both are the two different terms in various cases.

All good, ML is the subset of AI. In order to perform input to output processes for any given data at hand, we first transform the given data or physical model to that of the mathematical world via digitalization etc. We then generate some step by step summarised rules (algorithms) for computational tasks of customer requirement, e.g., classification, clustering, sementation, object tracking etc.
Confusion Matrix is not and algorithm for Machine Learning is rather an Evaluation Technique for classification problem others include root means square for regression problem.
