Hi, I've just started to work with Cre - lox transgenic mice and I'm just interested what deletion rate is considered to be good for different Cre ? Generally, I'm interested in Cre for myeloid cells (monocytes and neutrophils).

If I got it right from the paper by Abram et al. the deletion efficiency around 50% is considered to be very good (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4105345/). I just wonder whether to have gene deletion in only 50% of the population of your interest is enough to get the effects in vivo and to be able to assess the decrease in the gene product by WB ? So, does anybody know what is really good Cre efficiency in monocytes and neutrophils ? And what results would be good enough for LysM Cre, CX3CR1 Cre, S100A8 Cre deleters ?

 Thank you in advance !

 With my best regards,

 Evgenii .
