There are some procedures for calculating the eigenvectors based on the correlation matrix such as using the Matlab software, but the results are not always accurate.
Could you suggest me a reliable and accurate procedure for calculating the eigenvectors, which also follows the order of the columns in the obtained matrix?

What is size of your matrix? Did you try to calculate the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the matrix with python?

Well, I would suggest starting with a good book on Numerical Analysis. I'm an old guy so I liked Conte and DeBoor, Elementary Numerical Analysis. The routines in R should be accurate. Why do you think what you used wasn't?. BTW the no. of eigenvectors is not always equal to the number of columns in the matrix. You might also google multicollinearity and ridge regression to get extra but important information on correlation matrices. Best, David Booth
