I am looking for research that combined the findings of Parasocial Interaction (Horton & Wohl 1956) and Agenda-Setting Theory (McCombs & Shawn 1972). I.e. answering the question whether the agenda-setting effect is higher if the recipient has a parasocial relationship with the news anchor. Do you know any?

If not, what do you think about combining these two theories for a study? I.e. if the agenda-setting effect of political YouTubers is higher than with "traditional" news media, because of the much higher parasocial interaction/relationship.

Looking forward to your answers.
