Today, I have a very nice event on learning 3. @paul Sergeant from Belgium, presented on learning 3 and shared his experiences on knowledge sharing throughout the world. we discussed on the potentiality of knowledge sharing through communities. Paul believed that, the first phase to establish a knowledge management initiative is to shape communities. But there are many obstacles against knowledge flow in communities. Most of them are because of deficit on knowledge documentation. Because most of people have knowledge in their mind but are not able or not intended to create content and contribute to KM systems.
What is your ideas on this?

In organizations, knowledge can move rapidly or slowly, usefully or unproductively. Those who place faith in internal knowledge markets and online platforms to promote knowledge stocks and flows should understand how extrinsic incentives can crowd out intrinsic motivation.

Let me first appreciate, its a thought provoking topic. But the real problem lies in the psychology of people to hide information. People even try to hide such information which is easily accessible on digital platforms.This aspect needs to be taken care of.
