In the Solomon Islands, a number of different terms and understandings are used. Some of these are dated, some are disputed in other countries or contexts; but all of them are found in current documents and general discourse within the context I am working.

PWD - People with Disabilities (person first language)

Disabled People

Special Needs - Diverse needs

Diverse learning needs

Special Education/al Needs (SEN)

Children/learners with disabilities and special learning needs

Students with special abilities

I am interested in people's different perspectives on the most appropriate language to use in terms of Inclusive Educational Practice.
