With increasing numbers of senior citizens in many countries we are planning to work on a publication focussing on the elderly. The study could be sociolinguistic, psycholinguistic , or even discourse oriented. Topics could be wide ranging e.g how the elderly are perceived by service providers, what the views of the elderly are to elderese, their views of their changing world as they age etc If you are currently working on such issues do provide a synopsis of your study.
Research on the language of the elderly should try to focus on the study of conversation as the setting where most of the communication takes place. Of course, the researcher must integrate the contributions of different disciplines, without neglecting clinical linguistics and especially conversation analysis.

there are a lot of different approaches. Check worker by Koller, Semino et al on the language around cancer (several articles and at least one book).
another corpus approach looks at changes is language patterns where people have aphasia or dementia (again, several different research papers…)
when it comes to ’perception’ of the elderly, chec, for example, this one:
