Many thanks Vintila for your comment and suggestion. Yes, these all are important aspects to be taken into account. Although, some of those were included in the four major aspects to evaluate a regional ecological integrity like trough land use, fragmentation, landscape connectivity approach and ecosystem representativeness of protected areas relate with the policy.
In the framework of RIEI, refer to the article tagged here, incorporated aspects of structural, functional and compositional indicators of a regional ecological system. As this approach focus in a broad/large spatial scale, hence many other biological and ecological aspects couldn't included. We assume, once this approach used for identification of ecosystems having good or bad ecological integrity, then it may get specific concentration for the ecological systems/regions required more in depth evaluation and monitoring criteria. On the other hand, a regional and global threshold is important for ensuring EI to restore natural resources.
It is really important to link socio-economic aspects in the RIEI approach. Isn't it helpful to calculate or to relate aspects of ecosystem goods and services with the approach? I am just making a way out. Would you or anybody have any idea to identify the indicators for the purpose? It will be a great help in developing a useful RIEI for sustainable management of natural resources.
