First, write a scientifically sound manuscript with the guidance of your adviser(s) (there, you have to make a good first impression for your manuscript with the title and the abstract).
Search for a journal that is relevant to your subject field (It is better if you can select a journal that is indexed in a reputed database).
Arrange your manuscript according to the format required by the journal (consider the referencing style as well).
Then submit the manuscript along with figures (that processed according to the guidelines of the journal), other supporting materials and a cover letter that addressed to the editor in chief of the journal.
After you submitted the manuscript, you can tract the progress of the processing of your manuscript via the "Manuscript tracking system" of the journal.
Then, an academic editor accesses the manuscript and decide whether it is rejected (mostly if the manuscript isn't within the scope of the journal) or sent for peer reviewing process.
If your manuscript was sent for peer reviewing process, you will get the reviewer comments within a certain period of time. Therein, you get reviewer comments (through the academic editor assigned to your manuscript) as either minor or major revisions or rejected.
When you get minor or major revisions, you have to revise your manuscript accordingly and submit your revised manuscript back to the journal (therein, you have to address each an every reviewer comments carefully).
Most of the times your revised manuscript is peer reviewed again.
After your manuscript is accepted, your manuscript is processed through proofing step(s) before it is finally published in a volume of the journal.
