Indeed, no news. This journal “Journal of Research in Humanities and Social Science” is published by “Quest Journals Inc” and this publisher is mentioned in the Beall’s list: https://beallslist.net/

This is a red flag. Indeed, another red flag are pointless or even misleading metrics like the prominently impact factor "Scientific Journal Impact Factor (SJIF)": https://beallslist.net/misleading-metrics/

Furthermore, they prominently mention DOI but the papers I checked don’t have any. These same papers all were “peer reviewed” in 9-11 days (all of them) which is to so the least suspect and strongly suggests that serious peer review is absent.

So (still) a journal (and publisher) one better avoids.

I agree with Rob Keller - consider selecting journals that are listed on one of the popular indices (attached), then you know you are safe!

Rob Keller Rodney Duffett Thank you very much my friends. The truth is that it is a shame that this kind of thing is allowed. Also, the current practices of indexed journals should be reviewed for example: a huge delay to respond, large percentage of rejection, among others.

....by QUEST journals INC (cf. also my first post (second part) on this 'publisher' (cf. my REPLY #128, dated back to October 5, 2020).

They invite to publish with them (listing in that E-mail-message at least 11 Journal titles - see below) and - referring to www.questjournals.org -

stating also (QUOTE):

With a list of 24 journals, iosrjournals.org, the website of International Organization of Scientific Research (IOSR), states:

“Congratulations, Most of IOSR Journals are approved by UGC.”

But The Indian Express found none of those journals on the UGC list. Run by Chetan Sharma, who claims to have completed his PhD, the website lists IOSR Journal of Dental and Medical Sciences as “MCI Approve”. But, when contacted, a representative of the Medical Council of India (MCI) said it has “no role with regard to journals”. The websites of these journals list addresses in Australia, Qatar, US and Dasna in Ghaziabad.

At the Ghaziabad address listed on questjournals.org, registered in the name of Sharma, The Indian Express met Sandeep Sharma, who identified himself as a builder and younger brother of Chetan Sharma. “Chetan has shifted his business to Bengaluru,” he said. The company claims to have “accepted” 16,000 articles.

REACTION: Chetan Sharma: “There are different editors for different journals. All articles are published after peer review. If we get any complaint related to any article, the editorial board takes action within seven days. I use a US address for some of my journals because content and editors for such subjects are available there only.” [END of QUOTE]
