I'm working on questionnaire validation study. I am confused about what I should write as dependent variables in the proposal. Can anyone help?
When you coined the word "dependent variables" - indicating you want to conduct a correlational study that involved some independent & dependent variables in your study. Perhaps you want to determine what are your research problem, research objective, research questions & conceptual framework. Once you have the above 4 being identified, then you can define & operationalize your dependent variables.
@ Dr Han: The research problem is whether or not the questionnaire is both valid and reliable. Is it correct to conclude from your answer that a non-correlational research does not require dependent nor independent variables?
In my personal opinion, If your goal is to develop / adapt a questionnaire for a specific construct / variably by measuring its validity & reliability, you don't need to conduct a correlational study with independent & dependent variables. You can perform some statistical tests on their reliability & validity - see an article example as per link below. If your goal is to use the questionnaire to measure certain construct / variable as part of your conceptual framework / research model with some independent & dependent variables, then you can conduct a correlational study.
