I have to submit final version of the paper “Homophily in Political Process: Nepal-India Relations” at Centre for SAARC Studies, Andhra University, India. The paper was presented in the International Conference at the Centre early this year. The existing literature and your suggestions, comments and critics would help me out to explore more on the issue.
People will always associate with people whom they share some characteristics with (race, ethnicity, religion etc). The same principle applies to how countries choose to relate with each other based on some shared characteristics for example India and Nepal do share a border.
